Where I got it: I got a sample from the Estée Lauder counter at Smith & caught about 2 months ago where they color-matched me. I fell in love with this and I went online to look for a more affordable price (it was $80 at S&C). I got my color on Nordstrom for a fraction of the price (USD$36 – I also got a rebate from Ebates at 14%!!)
What I got: I got a 30ml bottle of Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place Makeup in 2C3 Fresco. It claims to provide 15 hour of medium to full coverage wear. The formula will withstand humidity, heat and won’t transfer on clothes of smudge. It gives a flawless matte finish perfect for oily or combination skin. It is oil-free, non-acnegenic, fragrance-free and dermatologist-tested.
How I find it: I tried it at an Estee Lauder counter one day and the sales applied it with a foundation brush. I have also saw reviews that this foundation formula is quite fast-drying so you need to work quickly. I use a primer all over my face after my mosituriser has settled, then I have use my fingers or a flat foundation brush to apply the foundation (they both do fine), I haven’t used my Shiseido foundation brush because I don’t thing it would suit. One layer gives a good medium coverage and a second layer would give me full coverage, it covers my pores perfectly, my acne scars and redness are almost all gone! The color-match is great as it has 31 shades and it doesn’t oxidize. It gives a nice light-weight and non-sticky semi-matte finish which I don’t even need a loose powder over it.
Overall: I fell in love as soon as I tried it on, it is not cakey, the color on me is very natural and it is by far the best foundation I have used in terms of oil control. However, because it is so hard-wearing, it will need some work on removal, so I do need to use a cleansing oil. One thing I really don’t like is the pour-out bottle, this can be so inconvenient where you can pour too much and get really messy. For me, this can last about 5 hours with no signs of oil on my oily t-zone area (usually 3 hours max with other foundations).
Repurchase? Definitely, no doubts about it. I am even considering purchasing their concealer. If you prefer a lighter coverage, you could always go for the light version.
